Ambuja Cements net dips 66.5 pct at Rs 109.96 cr in Q4

Ambuja Cements Ltd has reported a fall of 66.5 per cent in its standalone net profit after taxes (PAT) at Rs 109.96 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2015.

“The standalone net profit of the company stood at Rs 328.59 crore during the same period a year ago,” said Ambuja Cements Ltd in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Further, the standalone total income of the company witnessed a marginal decline of 0.6 per cent at Rs 2,462.52 crore during Q3 2015-16, as compared to Rs 2,477.22 crore during the same period last year.

The net sales of the cement maker declined to Rs 2,355.81 crore for the fourth quarter, as against Rs 2,378.97 crore in the same period of previous fiscal.

The Board of Directors of the company has recommended a final dividend on equity shares at the rate of Rs 1.20 per share (60 per cent). With the interim dividend of Rs 1.60 per share (80 per cent) paid during the year, the total dividend for the year 2015 works out to Rs 2.80 per share(140 per cent).

Meanwhile, shares of the company were trading at Rs 194 apiece, down 0.51 per cent, from previous close on BSE at 14:29 hours.
